View from the end of the line down to the (uninflated) balloon.

The aforementioned (uninflated) balloon.

Bob Bee (W4POF) explaining how it's all going to work.

Starting inflation....

More inflation. We're using a plastic sheet with lines tied at the corners to keep the
balloon under control.

More gas!

We've now changed cylinders and are putting in enough gas to lift a 12 lb. weight.

The balloon is now full and barely lifts the 12 lb. weight.

Turning on the transmitter (far silver box) and the camera (near silver box with the pink sail).
The parachute is the red object on the ground near Bob, as he runs back towards the balloon.

The balloon is up, though we haven't let go of the tether yet.

There goes the parachute...

John (KG4L) hands off the camera payload.

The camera payload goes aloft...

The transmitter payload follows...

Up, up, and away!
